IN IRELAND
IRELAND, THIS PAGE IS FOR YOU!
Here in Ireland, there are few things we like better than a nice chat. We are naturally curious, and love to find out more. This page is a bit like a chat! It gives you a chance to find out more about Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) in Ireland, to hear from Irish people who use CPS in their homes, their schools, and their services, and to keep in touch with us about current and upcoming developments.
The evidence-based CPS model has 30 years of practice and research behind it, but it’s only been in Ireland for a few years. It has landed here at a good moment! Ireland has emerged from its history of harsh treatment of people with differences, and is embracing a more effective, compassionate, and rights-based approach to helping people. Not only does CPS align with new laws, policies, and rights-based standards, it also gives us the tools to work in a way that is actively collaborative, respects the concerns of all parties, and leads to solutions that are mutual and realistic.
The fact that you’ve found your way to this page tell us you may be curious about how the CPS model is different from other ways of helping people, what opportunities it offers to children, adults, families, and staff who have not benefited from conventional approaches, how it might fit in with the other work you are doing, and how you might get started. We’re created a graphic to provide you with a bit of a pathway to guide you through the different ways to become familiar with a get trained in the model. Just as each season has a different pace and different activities, each stage of implementing CPS leads seamlessly into the next. To download the CPS Pathway for Services in Ireland, click here.
