Creating Access and Resources in Education (CARE) for Student Mental Health Act (S.4041)
The Creating Access and Resources in Education (CARE) for Student Mental Health Act (S.4041) would close the gap between schools in need and available mental health services. The CAREĀ for Students Mental Health Act supports the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which was passed in 2022. The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act provided $1 billion for the Mental Health Service Professional Demonstration Grant Program and School-Based Mental Health Services Program to hire more school psychologists, counselors, social workers, and other mental health service providers. However, less than 3% of eligible entities have applied for these grants. The CARE for Students Mental Health Act would support schools in accessing the Mental Health Service Professional Demonstration Grant Program and the Mental Health Services Program. Your federal representatives need to hear from you so they know where their constituents stand on issues related to mental health services in schools.
